Ring My Bell may have been at #1 on the charts in 1979, but all I wanted to listen to was The Gambler! 

1979 marked the end of the decade and the end of my time as an only child. It was also the year I first traveled on an airplane (to Florida to meet my great-grandmothers), fed chickens, played with goats, and learned to snoop. This was also the year I got my dad to shave off his goatee by insisting he was too prickly to kiss goodnight.

21 months old Katie takes out of drawer Daddy's Crest and says, "No more cavities."
