Attempt #4

[the first 3 were better…just can’t rethink it all yet again so here is the bulleted version]

  • slept in

  • drove to Harrisburg - took forever because the powers don’t find it necessary to finish building frickin 485 and there was yet another wreck on Harris

  • dropped off my Whiskey River Grand Opening tix for Tate & Allison

  • headed up 85 to DC

  • nice day opted for 29 over 95

  • made good time. no speeding tix eventhough there were troopers every 10 miles

  • took 66 in to 495

  • hit Beltway at 5:30 and hit breaks

  • continuously shifted weight on break for next 82 min.

  • finally reached Old Georgetown Rd exit

  • met up with Soozy, who had been waiting for me since 6pm, to grab drinks in Bethesda

  • aborted mission after 1 beer as it was clear no patio tables would ever be free.

  • headed up to Gaithersburg for wine, pizza and Battlestar Galactica

  • lights out

  • slept in a little

  • grabbed coffee and talked gardening with Soozy

  • trucked over to College Park to wander and reminisce with Melissa

  • walked around an empty Comcast Center and checked out the trophies

  • visited the Book Exchange and found a sweet touk - looks like an old leather helmut

  • lunched at Bentley’s - first time i ordered a beer there and wasn’t carded

  • back the Gaitherburg - another wreck on the highway

  • running late, had to hurry to get ready for the surprise party

  • Reid nominates me DD - Woo Hoo! more driving!

  • shoot down to Potomac for Marisa’s 30th

  • great house, great food, great wine, AMAZING hostess

  • Marisa was super late - to be expected, Chris was driving

  • Her uncle and brother had already blown the surprise, but at least some of the faces she saw were a surprise

  • ate, drank, toasted, talked Adult Swim

  • boarded a bus for the DC Improv

  • after a very long ride - made it in just in time for the 2nd Judah Freidlander show

  • service was slow, comics were funny, Soozy got us all in trouble with Freidlander - called us all retards, which is not far from the truth

  • very long ride back to Potomac

  • Soozy lost her purse while going to the bathroom

  • long drive back to Gaithersburg

  • SLEEP

  • up early early early

  • drive to Sterling in the POURING rain to me Justin for coffee at 8:30am - what was i thinking!?

  • after we got ourselves into the same Sterling Wegmans (who knew there were so many) had to great catch-up in the MarketCafe

  • did some Weggies shoppin’

  • discovered i had parked on top of a drain and lost my bottom 5 inches to the river running down it

  • hit the road

  • headed out 66 to 81 to try and get past the storm - worked

  • was able to get the Mexico race on the radio and as soon as i got into it lost the signal

  • rolled on down through the gap and got home in good time
